Library celebrates local authors and community spirit at Second Annual Write Local event

Local writing took center stage last weekend as the Iredell County Public Library hosted its second annual Write Local: Annual Author Fair. Bringing together writers, readers, and community members, the event highlighted literary talent rooted across Iredell County and surrounding regions.

The day-long celebration featured a diverse lineup of local authors spanning multiple genres, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children’s literature, and local history. Attendees had the opportunity to meet writers face-to-face, discover new books, purchase signed copies, and have conversations with local talent about their creative process and works.

In addition to author showcases, local writing groups and literary partners provided resources for aspiring authors looking to hone their craft. From seasoned novelists, such as Brian C. Anderson, sharing their publishing experiences to first-time published authors, like Jaymie Thomas, making their debut, the atmosphere reflected a strong, united community dedicated to supporting the written word.

The Iredell County Public Library extends its sincere thanks to all participating authors and community members who attended and helped make the second annual author fair a success. Planning for future literary programming and writer support initiatives is already underway.
